1587年庄园属于当时法国海军总司令Duc D’Epernon公爵，传说当时经过酒庄的船只必须降下半帆以示对他的尊重。他对此非常喜欢，所以决定酒庄的标志就以一艘下着半帆的龙船为标记，并以「Beychevelle」作为酒庄名字。「Beychevelle」就是由法文词「Baisse-Voile--下半帆」演变而来的。
龙船虽然是波尔多Medoc产区四级庄，但价格比很多二、三级庄还要高些，广受爱戴的原因，不单是它易上口的中国化名字，令它在中国市场大受欢迎，它丰富的口感和非凡的陈年能力才是重点！
龙船2014以独立木盒包装，十分罕见且得体，绝对是个人收藏或送礼佳品。它在众多著名酒评家手上，均取得高分数，James Suckling 95分 和 Vinous 94分
